Guess who made it through midterms and stayed cute during her first German oral?
I'm not happy with my C+ average, but considering all the feelings I dealt with for the first half of the semester, I'm not complaining. Keep looking forward and keep doing better right? German is coming easier and I think I'm starting to lose the bit of Portuguese accent I throw in when speaking Spanish. I already live in two languages since Montreal is a bilingual city (let's agree to disagree okay?), and throwing German and Spanish into the mix of English and French is hectic. My notes for class are scribbles in all four languages; I have yet to learn how to turn off three languages so I can only work in one. I always knew that German and English were close and that German shared a bit with French as well, but I never realized how much they overlapped until now. This semester's language class (like the core course in addition to whatever language instruction classes) is a community based one, but in my third semester the course will be an introduction to linguistics of sorts it seems.
It's getting colder and that's totally not my steelo, but it means I can bring out all of my beanies. Peep my Wu-Block one!
