I think the main reason why I'm not a big fan of rain is because I would have to stay inside all day when I was a kid. Even though I was just crossing from one building to another, my father was very anti-going outside for anything non-life threatening when it was raining. It's an old school West Indian thing I guess. Rain is the only reason why I couldn't bump with London on a long-term/year round basis. I have an extremely sensitive nose and there's nothing like the spring assault of the funk made up of body odour, wet dog, cigarette, and earth. However, I have gotten this super cute rain jacket at Old Navy on sale, and I love wearing it when there's reason to.
On top of it being adorable, it actually works. I don't know what I was expecting when I decided to pick it up last minute, but it was definitely worth the thirty dollars I spent on it. Lined, rain repellent (I always carry an umbrella so I'll never experience a real soaking, and with four snapping pocket plus a drawstring, the only thing that could make this jacket even more perfect would be to have an inner hidden pocket. The hood is deep and wide enough for my big head and the thick twists I have in, and the pockets can hold a lot (think iPod classic, small Moleskine/Leuchttrum1917 notebook, and a small pocket travel guide). Unfortunately, I think this jacket is one of their clearance items because I can't find it stocked anywhere online, but do give it a chance if you see it in store!
